Shailaja Padindala began her artistic journey as a painter and sculptor, later working as a Television and News producer before stepping into films.
Her mentor Bala Kailasam deeply shaped her path in Television and News production. The raw honesty of news narratives strongly impacts Shailaja’s storytelling voice.
Low-budget filmmaking centered on women, queer liberation, sexuality, breaking nepotism, and dismantling “brand” identities forms the core vision of Shailaja’s films and art.
